No matter how many times I visit, Hobart never ceases to amaze me. As an Australian travel blogger, I don’t spend nearly enough time exploring all that this beautiful country has to offer, but whenever I do, I’m reminded just how lucky I am to call this sun-drenched country of endless adventures home. If 2015 was the year for exploring much of Europe, 2016 is shaping up to be the year of Australian travel and I couldn’t be more excited!
After the hustle and bustle of Christmas and the lightning speed with which the days in January went by, our weekend away in Hobart arrived quicker than I was expecting. All of a sudden, our plane from Brisbane touched down at Hobart International and we were speeding along the highway in a cab headed for Hobart’s waterfront.
After checking in at Customs House, we were eager to get back outside to soak up the sun and embark on the first mission of the day – finding a spot for lunch. We stumbled upon the Telegraph Hotel just a few doors down from where we were staying and so began a whirlwind 72 hours in Hobart.
We managed to pack a lot into our 72 hour Hobart itinerary – which is fairly easy to do as the city is full to bursting with amazing things to see and do and most are within easy walking distance from the other. Our time in Hobart included a stroll through the city, wandering along the waterfront, exploring beautiful Battery Point, visiting Salamanca Place, lunching at Salamanca Square, catching up with family and friends, attending a stunning vineyard wedding, enjoying a delicious Sunday brunch and so much more.
Here are some of my favourite moments from our 72 hours in Hobart.
Have you visited Hobart? If not, you should definitely add it to your Australian travel bucket list pronto!
