During our few days in Hobart at the beginning of our month long road trip adventure around Tasmania, Ty and I took a drive up to the summit of Mount Wellington. Just outside of Hobart, connecting the city to the bush, is Wellington Park, the home of Mount Wellington. Towering over Hobart city, the mountain is frequently covered in snow even in the summer time. Ty and I visited on what was quite a warm day in Hobart, only to find it completely freezing at the summit! That’s why locals shake their heads at us Queenslanders – we never expect it to be cold anywhere during the summer. Armed with only thin t-shirts and pants, we ran around like crazy people taking bursts of photographs before retreating back into the warmth of the car. But the views! Oh the views were easily worth it!
Have you ever been caught out with unexpected weather? This was a common problem for us Queenslanders in Tasmania!
Thanks so much for reading! XO
