Can you even believe we’re at the end of November already? I seriously can’t. Summer is about to officially begin, which means Christmas is nearly here and we’ll be saying goodbye to 2015 very soon. To me, December is a time for enjoying the Summer weather, eating copious amounts of stonefruit, spending time with family and friends, and embracing all things Christmas! I can’t wait!
I’m a little late getting this week’s Happy List up because we hosted Tyrone’s work Christmas Party last night and we were all go go go getting things organised. It was the first proper dinner we’ve hosted in our house and we had a blast. Here are five other moments from the week that made me happy…
1// Our wedding photos! We received the digital files of our photos this week and it’s been so wonderful to relive every moment and every feeling from that day. The amazing Charmaine Otto Photography captured everything so beautifully, and I especially loved seeing scenes from the day that I didn’t manage to actually witness. Can’t wait to share them with you all as soon as I organise the 600+ photos we have into blog posts!
2// Hosting our first barbecue. Barbecues in the Summertime is the Australian way, and it was so much fun hosting our first barbecue at our home on Friday night. And dessert buffets are the Carly way so you know I tried one of everything!
3// Recreating honeymoon memories. This week we cooked ravioli and prepared it in the same way we had it in Italy during our honeymoon. It’s amazing how many memories are attached to amazing meals we’ve eaten, don’t you think?
4// An early Christmas present! Ty texted me on Monday at work and said a present had arrived for me in the post. When I got home he surprised me with an amazing Bluetooth kit that I so badly need for my car. I’ve been prank calling him all week as a way of saying thanks because it’s just too easy – all I have to say is “Call Tyrone” and it does. Priceless!
5// Reviving my laptop! Lately I’ve been getting increasingly frustrated by my laptop’s slowness and Ty suggested it might have had something to do with the thousands of high res photos I’ve overloaded it with over the past few years. I was like “nah, that’s not it.” but then I had a nightmare where I was Carrie in this exact SATC scene. So with Ty’s help, all my photos are now backed up on two external drives and my laptop has a new lease on life. Hallelujah!
How has your week been? I have plans to have dinner and rewatch OC episodes with my sisters tonight which honestly sounds like my idea of heaven after a busy week! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend and thanks so much for reading! XO
