Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend?! It’s set to be quite the busy week over here in this little corner of the globe, so I’m extra grateful for the relaxing weekend we’ve just had. In another news, this is the 55th Happy List I’ve shared here on Let Us Wanderlust. Even though I first started sharing this weekly post back in 2014 it still totally blows my mind that we are up to number 55! How time flies hey!
I’m co-hosting Jasmin’s
Happiness Link Up this week, so don’t forget to link up your own Happy List at the end of this post! Here’s a little of what has been making me happy this past week:
1// My early mornings. If you’ve been reading LUW for a while, you’ll know I love my early mornings. I start each day somewhere between 5 and 5.30am and spend the first hour or so of each day harnessing my creativity and inspiration. I’m most inspired in the early mornings, before work-related things dominate my thoughts, and starting my day earlier allows me to start it s l o w e r in a much more relaxed and enjoyable kind of way.
2// Lavender tea at Pottique.
While I’m a self-confessed tea fanatic, I had never tried lavender tea until the weekend before last. We headed off to the gorgeous (and very Instagrammable) lavender farm not far from our place last Saturday after a jaunt around the farmer’s market. It was a windy and unseasonably cold day and so I ordered the lavender tea to sip with my lunch. Now I’m completely obsessed and next time I go I’m going to buy a whole heap to take home with me.
3// Finding my France travel diary from when I was 14. Recently I’ve been digging the house up (and Mum and Dad’s too) trying to find an album of photographs that I took while I was 14 and living abroad in France. While I haven’t been able to uncover the photos yet, I did come across my old travel diary that had long been forgotten. I spent the afternoon on Saturday re-reading all the travel tales of my 14 year old self and it truly made me laugh out loud and bought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion. How special it is to have those memories preserved, even if the photos never turn up!
4// A low key Valentine’s Day dinner with my sweet. Ty and I celebrated our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple on Sunday with a low key dinner at home. We agreed to no presents this year, but he surprised me with a stunning bunch of red roses and the absolute sweetest card. I felt so spoilt and very, very lucky!
5// Planning my sister’s bridal shower and hens do!
My twin sister Lauren is getting married in a little less than 8 months so I spent a good deal of this past weekend sorting out some amazing plans to celebrate HER in the coming months. To say I’m excited is a total understatement 😉
