Five Easy Hairstyles for Travelling

Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m a bit of a girly girl who loves putting together outfits, playing around with my make up and trying out different hairstyles. But I’m also a girl who loves to travel and moving around as often as Ty and I do, means we are on the go from morning until late afternoon most days.  In an effort to streamline my getting ready process in the morning and get out the door that little bit quicker (Ty is ready to go at least 30 minutes before me every single day), I have found myself gravitating towards five easy hairstyles that are versatile, non fussy and take only minutes to create. They also stay put for the full day ahead and look cute in photos!

Here are my five go-to looks:

1. Headbands
I’ve recently rediscovered my love for headbands. They remind me so much of my childhood, when I was growing my fringe out and I would wear headbands all. the. time. I had an all-time favourite one and can still picture it in my mind today. A headband is perfect for everyday wear, especially for me while travelling, as it’s a super easy, quick and cute style to put together in a hurry.

2. Braids
I’m completely obsessed with braids and have been for quite some time. I learnt to French braid at a young age by watching my mum braid mine and my sisters’ hair and I’ve recently mastered the fishtail braid too! The best part? A braid is such a versatile style to wear, never looks boring and gives my hair a wave that is perfect for the following day!

3. Top knot
I’m a big proponent of the top knot or bun when I want my hair out of my face. It still looks great even when my hair is a day or two old and not freshly washed and I can wear it messy or neat, depending on how it turns out on any particular day!

4. The ponytail
I used to think ponytails were the epitome of boring on me (mainly because we HAD to wear our hair like this every single day to school – it was a school rule and part of the dress code) and I’ve struggled to embrace them since, even as an easy style for work. However, I’ve really changed my mind about ponytails since travelling. I love that I can wear it sleek, high, messy or low. The versatility is great and oh so easy to style!

5. Straightened and down
While I rarely go to the effort of properly sectioning and straightening my hair, I often run my GHD quickly over the top layer of my hair and the front sections that frame my face. If I’ve actually gone to the trouble of properly straightening it, then I usually like to wear it down, and my sleek, straight hair lasts until the next wash!

I’m looking forward to playing around with these styles with my now mid-length hair! I’m always on the look out for new inspiration, so I’d love to know, what are your go-to hairstyles for travel, work and/or play?
