Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco

Ty and I are home in Australia now but I still have the last week of our American adventures to share with you all! So here goes…our first day in San Francisco!
San Francisco is one of those cities that you will always hold close to your heart once you have visited, or you will dream about it forever until you visit. We loved everything about San Francisco, from the very first time we saw it. In particular, one of the highlights for us was a visit to the extremely popular and trendy neighbourhood of Fisherman’s Wharf.
Our beautiful boutique Inn had us staying exactly half way between Fisherman’s Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge so one our first morning in the city, we set out for a short but beautiful walk to reach the Wharf. Walking along the water’s edge provided us with the most incredible views of Alcatraz too!

It was an absolutely perfect spring day – the sky was blue, the sun was shining brightly and the gardens were blooming with the most beautiful florals.

Our first tram sighting!

Once we reached the Wharf, we drooled over all the delicious fresh seafood cooking from the market and restaurant stalls. Music was playing, people were milling about and the seagulls were hunting for any morcels of food left by the tourists!

Ty and I couldn’t stop looking incredulously at each other and exclaiming “How beautiful is it here?!?!”. It just was so we took every opportunity to snap pictures!

We made our way around to the famous Pier 39, which is home to an Aquarian, popular shopping and dining options.

Next, we headed off to Pier 33 – this was where we would begin our next adventure; a tour and a visit to Alcatraz Island!

Where we were headed next!
We had about 30 minutes to wait until the tour began, we I busied myself with admiring the beautiful blooms surrounding the pier and dreaming up a few DIY projects for when we return home!

Isn’t spring just the most beautiful time of year?

Have you ever visited San Francisco? Or it is still on your travel wish list?

Tune in next time for our time inside Alcatraz! Thanks so much for reading! Xo
