Phew, it’s Friday! How is it that time of the week again?! It’s been quite the week, full of lots of ups and downs. More ups than downs, thankfully, but life has been so go go go latey that this week I’ve felt a bit paralysed by the mounting number of tasks and never-ending to-do lists. Do you ever feel like that? It’s scary to think that we are already nearing the end of July (where has the year gone?!) and there is no slowing down in sight until October, at least, when we leave for our honeymoon. I’ve been longing for a slower pace these past few weeks so this weekend will be absolutely perfect with a little R&R and visiting with Ty’s brother and his girlfriend (and their 3 pups!) in Warwick.
The weather has been so cold this past week, with our local area recording the lowest temperature in the State on Wednesday morning. Brrrr! is all I have to say about that really! I’m very much looking forward to a little reprieve and some warmer temperatures – even if only slightly! – next week.
I hope you’ve all had a lovely week? Despite the manic nature of it, there were still lots of happy moments intertwined that managed to make it through all the craziness. Here are my five favourites…
1// WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! We did it! We signed our names on the dotted line and the contract went unconditional as of Monday. Even though we won’t actually live in this house (we will be renting it out), we couldn’t be more excited about buying our first house together!
2// Dalfour Jam. Raspberry and pomegranate to be exact! I bought two bottles at the Brisbane French Festival last weekend and have been obsessed ever since!
3// The first frost! On Wednesday morning, we woke up to a light layer of frost covering our entire backyard. It was quite a sight to behold, and a lovely little hint from nature to dress warmly that day!
4// Spending last Sunday with my sisters. A day with my favourite girls is always a great day, but last Sunday, we embraced our love of all things French and ventured into South Bank to the French Festival. We spent the day browsing cute-as-a-button market stalls, buying a bulk supply of macarons and indulging in my favourite French fare – the Nutella crepe. I wrote all about it here if you want to read more and see all the pictures from the day.
5// A visit to the hair salon! Sometimes, there is nothing that feels more indulgent than a trip to the salon! It’s always so lovely to have a little freshen up isn’t it?
What were your favourite moments from the week that was? And what is your favourite way to slow down when the world all around you is spinning? I could seriously use your help on this! Have a wonderful weekend and as always thank you so much for reading! XO
