While it’s not technically the beginning of the new year anymore, lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the year ahead and all the potential it holds. I chose “Focus” as my word to underpin 2016 and now that it’s February and some of that ‘It’s The New Year!’ shine that accompanies January has worn off, my focus for the year ahead are on these 16 small reminders.
Some are silly, most are sensible, but all of them are important little reminders to be happier, to make better choices and to spend more time and energy on the things that really matter (and less on those that don’t).
1// Find your FOCUS. In life you can do anything, but you can’t do everything all at once. The sooner you find and focus on what it is you want to achieve in your life, the easier it is to visualize and work towards that, and the sooner you’ll be able make it happen.
8// Spend more time in NATURE. It does wonders for the soul.
9// Take care of your BODY. It’s the only place you’ll ever have to live, so be kind to it.
12// ACCEPT the imperfections. They are what make you YOU.
13// Find the MAGIC in the everyday. Life moves so fast – remember to stop, look around and appreciate what’s right in front of you.
14// DANCE like know one is watching. In the middle of the street, at home in your underwear – just do it, because it feels so good.
15// LOVE, fully, wholly and unabashedly. And tell them. Every. Single. Day.
16// You’ll never be as young as you are right now. So make it count.
